I’ve met Alax three years ago at a coffee shop in Milwaukee after finding her on the Knot and wanting to learn more about working together. We immediately hit it off. We talked for so long, my fiancé called and asked where I was (haha) Alax and I hadn’t even realized how long it had been. Fast forward three years and three wedding dates later, we finally had the pleasure of working with her on our wedding day. I knew the minute I met her how professional and talented she is, but to see her on the day in full form was beyond impressive, and honestly took so much pressure off of me that entire day. I could not imagine our day without her. Did I mention her talent? What you see if what you get with Alax, she blows me away with how well she works with changing weather, lighting, surroundings, and also our other vendors like our videographer. Alax was so amazing as our wedding photographer! She has the most gorgeous editing style and made our day so romantic and fun. Everyone in our bridal party loved working with her, and we've already received so many compliments on our wedding photos. It's hard to choose just a few photos to post :) I can't recommend her enough!

10/10 would recommend Alaxandra for any of your photography needs! She shot our engagement photo shoot this past August and the pictures were absolutely STUNNING. My fiancé and I have never done any professional photography sessions before and we we’re pretty uncomfortable at first... but Alax put us right at ease! She talked us through everything and made the shoot so fun! She is so easy to talk to and get along with, she went above and beyond our expectations. We can’t wait for her to capture our wedding day

Alax is amazing. Such a sweet, chill and professional soul that knows how to make couples feel comfortable during a photo shoot (even when posed haha). She’s amazing at capturing lighting and emotion she has a unique style but still delivers classic and timeless photos that I KNOW will be up on our walls and passed around to family for years to come. My fiancé and I both felt so comfortable in her presence and look forward to working with her again for our wedding in 2021! 12/10 would recommend she’s so talented and easy to work with.

10/10 would work with Alax again! Alax shot our wedding this past September and was a blast to work with. She was friendly, responsive, and the photos are beyond our wildest dreams. Finding the right photographer for our wedding was one of our highest priorities when it came to the big day. We wanted someone who would capture our memories in a way that felt like us. Alax went above and beyond. The whole day was beautiful, but a bit of a blur. Looking back at the photos (we've only seen the sneak peak so far and are blown away) she really made time stand still and somehow slowed down an experience that seemed to fly by me. I will forever be grateful for that. Outside of being an awesome photographer, she helped keep the day running smooth by keeping us on schedule, wrangling family members, and even pinning the guys' boutonnieres on. If she's available for your event, you should book her while you still can. You won't regret it!

Alaxandra was absolute perfection in capturing our wedding just how we wanted to remember it. I am obsessed with the photos and have been told my by multiple co-workers that they are the best wedding photos they've ever seen. She is a pleasure to work with and has excellent turnaround time.

We were fortunate to have Alax as our engagement photographer and wedding photographer. She was absolutely fabulous! Alax is very professional, but also down to earth and easy to talk to. She made some wonderful suggestions for where to do engagement photos in San Diego based on her experiences and the ideas for photos that we had in mind. In addition, she came prepared with her own ideas of cute poses and specific locations to shoot certain pictures. She even timed the sunset perfectly to get a pic of us walking under the pier - one of my favorites! Then came the wedding and Alax did a wonderful job of pre-planning with us to set expectations for the day in terms of when and how we would do photos. She made sure she knew the schedule of events and which moments we absolutely wanted captured. Thankfully, she and her teammate caught many more special and candid moments than we could have anticipated. Somehow she was able to make our tuxedo speedo and bikini wedding still look classy and timeless, but also hilarious! Then, later in our 'formal' wear, she snapped perfect shots of tender moments on the dance floor and with friends and family. Most importantly, she knew how to navigate the event and essentially stay out of sight and I have no idea how she did it! We barely knew she was there unless she pulled us aside for quick photos we had requested that day. Alax is so talented and I can promise you that you will be thrilled you booked her to photograph whatever special moments you are celebrating in your life.

Alax photographed our engagement shoot, as well as our wedding and all I can say is WOW! She is extremely professional, creative in finding the perfect shot and so much fun to work with. Alax has captured the most important and most special moments in our lives and I will forever grateful to her for that. Alax shot our wedding in La Jolla, CA. I couldn’t have had a better wedding photographer! We got soooo many compliments. Everyone said our photos look like they are from a magazine. She got the very best angles, colors, contrast, settings, candidates, poses, etc. etc. Each photo is so beautiful, speaks 1,000 words and evokes emotion! Not to mention she’s the sweetest and most patient photographer! My husband is not typically comfortable in front of a camera but she changed that! So happy we went with her (and would absolutely again for any other photos we need done) and would recommend her to ANYONE and EVERYONE. We will have the most gorgeous wedding photos to treasure forever. Thank you, Alax!

Alaxandra photographed our summer wedding in San Diego. We met with her a couple months beforehand to discuss the details. We reviewed her portfolio and went over what sort of images we wanted at our venues. She was very professional and addressed all of our concerns. She was also knowledgable of the church and the reception venues, which was a bonus because she was able to also suggest ideas for shots. On the day-of, she captured everything well, even things we missed. My husband and I aren't very good at posing for pictures, but she made it easy for us. The photographs themselves are great. She captured colors beautifully, no image was blown-out or overexposed, and she gave us plenty of options.

Right off the bat Alax was very responsive to any questions we had about the process of engagement photos and booking her for our wedding! She is incredibly easy to work with. It made me feel better about our decision to book her. During our Engagement Photos, she made us feel very comfortable and helped with posing directions, etc. It was much needed for people who aren’t naturals in front of the camera. Once we got our Engagement Photos back, I looked at them non-stop for days. Alax’s ability to capture perfect lighting is amazing, she knows how to pose you to capture the perfect pictures. I cannot wait for our wedding and those photos!

I cannot even begin to say how amazing Alax is to work with! She was incredibly accommodating from the very beginning, and made our experience so much FUN! We worked with Alax for our engagement photos, boudoir session for my husband's wedding gift, and our wedding, and we were blown away by her work time and time again. Her talent shows through in everything she does, and we cannot recommend her enough! She truly is one of the best!

We loved the images we saw on Alaxandra’s website and knew we wanted her to photograph our big day. From stunning large shots, to amazing intimate moments, she does it all. From the very start, Alaxandra was personable, professional and regularly available for input and feedback on our wedding process. Since she lives in a different state from us, we had phone calls and FaceTime to get to know each other and learn her process before the wedding day. Her personality is warm and engaging, you can’t help but feel comfortable in her presence. On the day of our wedding she took photos of us getting ready. I got makeup on my cream suit jacket and was freaking out. Alaxandra jumped in and removed the spot with no problem. She was calm under pressure which also put me at ease. We took photos before the wedding started and I got thirsty. She let me drink from her water bottle. Alaxandra captured all the moments of our ceremony and even wrangled all our 45 guests into one group shot, no easy feat! She also did a great job of keeping us on track and on time with our wedding coordinators schedule. The pictures turned out spectacular! Her editing and eye for details made it difficult to choose our favorites. That’s a great problem to have. I highly recommend her services and found the value unbeatable!

The number one comment we received from our guests as they left our wedding was “your photographer was amazing!” And boy were they right. At our June 2017 wedding, Alax was confident, professional, creative, and could rangle both of our huge families to get family photos done ahead of schedule. She made us and our wedding party feel so at ease and comfortable that she made hours of photos feel fun and not like a chore. By the end of our wedding, we felt like we had been friends with her for years. Once we received our photos, we were truely blown away. She made us look like 1920s movie stars! So much so that people always mistake one of the large prints we have on our wall as a poster. Moral of the story: have Alax photograph your wedding. Trust me.

Hello readers! I would like to take some time to write a review for Alaxandra (Alax) Rutella. I could write a book about her...but I will keep it concise. Alax was our photographer for our wedding in San Diego in the fall of 2017. It was my absolute fairytale wedding with my Navy SEAL husband, Steve. As I would assume for any bride, finding the right photographer was very important especially after we put so much time and money into the details of the weekend. It was also important to me, personally, to have all of my vendors act a certain way which was just positive and kind so everyone at my wedding was someone I'd actually have at my wedding (no drama). We met Alax in her office months prior to our wedding and immediately all hit it off. She was extremely professional but not stuffy. She was stylish, classy, and had a great personality which ultimately showed in her stunning and creative work. She was on time, always calm, always smiling and always there taking pictures even when we didn't notice it. ( we also handed her our rings without hesitation so let's add TRUSTWORTHY). After our formal wedding ceremony, my husband jumped into our cocktail hour from a helicopter. Alax gave us some of the best pictures during that moment! Every single photo of the guys getting ready, the girls getting ready, my pups, our families, our gorgeous decorations, scenery, special moments during each part of the ceremony and reception, every single thing was captured beautifully. She exceeded my expectations. When people see our pictures on our apple tv or look through our wedding album they say things like, "you should submit your wedding photos to bridal magazines", even now over a year later. I guarantee you will get an expert and an awesome person to photograph your wedding when you hire Alax! Jeannie

Alaxandra was an excellent wedding photographer that exceeded my husband and I's expectation for our engagement and wedding photos. She has a friendly and warm personality and is easy to work with. She made me feel very calm and confident on my wedding day, which is important during this important, yet hectic day! My husband does not like to be photographed, which I was very worried about. She made him also feel very comfortable and relaxed, which allowed her to capture great pictures of us both and our family and friends. Together, we all laughed and enjoyed the entire photography experience. The finished products were AMAZING! The beautiful moments that she was able to capture would unbelievable. The colors in the photos were vibrant and the details were sharp. I put together albums with more than 500 pictures from the special day. Every time I look at them it takes me back to our special day and I remember exactly how I felt. Alaxandra really is the best.

I'm a type A person and LOVE to do my research and so when we found Alaxandra, we crossed our fingers! We loved the images we saw on Alaxandra’s website and knew we wanted to hire her to be our photographer. Alaxandra was extremely professional, fun and and all-around joy to work with. Her personality is warm and practical, you can’t help but feel comfortable in her presence. Alaxandra captured so many moments amazing from our ceremony that we still enjoy to this day! She also did an incredible job of keeping us on track and on time with our wedding coordinators schedule. We still think the pictures are spectacular! No really, she's without equal and worth every penny! Her editing and eye for details made it difficult to choose our favorites. That’s a great problem to have. We highly recommend her services!

Moving to Milwaukee last November led to meeting my fiancé John in February, and meeting Alax in August (two very serendipitous and significant events)! Upon discovering that Alax was a wedding photographer, I wanted to check out her website. I thought If her work was as creative, genuine, cool yet warm, and beautiful as her spiritual aura, she would be the perfect photographer to hire—if she were available. When I viewed her work—which is true artistry—I was in awe. Her work shows that she is a premiere wedding photographer. However, Alax was booked to shoot in another state the day before our twilight/sunrise SUNDAY wedding. So John and I were beyond thrilled that she could even commit to shooting our wedding. It literally was dark and a bit windy when we started shooting. Alax magically captured the beauty of night turning into morning, Lake Michigan, Atwater Beach, and the love and joy we were feeling, all with a wonderful sense of calm. When we saw our photo gallery, we were immediately transported back to those exact moments. If you are looking for an enthusiastic, fun and easy going photographer to make your day special.. Alax is the one! Alax was our photographer for our engagement and wedding photos. Her ability to gel with our personalities to help us get the best shots and make the process so easy and fun is second to none. if you are like me, and hate being in front of a camera... This is HUGE! Alax is able to make you feel comfortable, no pressure and just about enjoying the moment which shows in the final photos. Alax really has an eye for this. We could not have asked for a more amazing photographer. Alax was no less than phenomenal! Her work speaks for itself. We wanted someone to capture the moments of the most important day in our life with an artistic eye and she more than exceeded any expectations. We also decided to do engagement photos with Alax at the last minute when we were in town to make last minute arrangements for our destination wedding and she came through for us. Our engagement and wedding photos are absolutely gorgeous! I really felt that photography was one of, if not the most, important pieces of the wedding plan. I highly recommend Alaxandra as a wedding photographer! She shot my July wedding in San Diego and her photographs went above and beyond our expectations. She embodies a beautiful mix of stylized and candid photos, which is exactly what we wanted. She shot my bridesmaids and I, our first look, the ceremony, family photos, and the reception. We had thousands of photos to choose from and couldn't be happier with the selection. We had several enlarged to hang in our home and to gift to our families.
